Why an Experienced Telecoms BDM should apply:

If you are an established sales professional in the Telecoms space, you know that the industry is often bogged down by rigid corporate structures, saturated territories, and complex red tape. This role offers the antidote.

We are looking for a BDM who wants to move away from being just a "number" and instead become a high-impact territory owner. You will have the agility of a pioneering; leading UK telecoms business combined with a premium product suite including 3CX / Zoom / Five9 + many more VoIP solutions. Here, you aren't just selling "minutes and lines"; you are architecting digital transformations for medium-sized enterprises with the backing of a technical team that delivers with support from an internal lead gen team providing you with pre-qualified leads. With an uncapped commission structure, 32 days of holiday, and a culture that prioritizes being personal and proactive, this is the perfect platform for a high-achiever to reclaim their autonomy and significantly increase their earning potential.

The Opportunity

We are representing a premier UK provider of cloud communications and connectivity solutions. We are seeking a high-calibre Business Development Manager to spearhead New Business acquisition.

This is a strategic "hunter" role designed for a professional who excels at identifying, engaging, and closing mid-market enterprise accounts. As a BDM, you will be responsible for the entire business development lifecycle—transforming cold prospects into long-term partners by delivering sophisticated VoIP (3CX) and infrastructure solutions.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategic Prospecting: Identify and penetrate "new logo" accounts within the Midlands and South East, utilizing a mix of digital outreach, networking, and industry research.

Consultative Solution Design: Conduct deep-dive discovery sessions with prospective clients to understand their operational challenges and architect tailored communication ecosystems.

  • Revenue Generation: Meet and exceed ambitious monthly and quarterly new business targets through disciplined pipeline management and high-conversion closing techniques.

  • Executive Engagement: Navigate complex decision-making units to present and negotiate at the C-suite and Director level.

  • Market Positioning: Maintain an expert-level understanding of the technology landscape, ensuring our client’s VoIP and connectivity products are positioned as market-leading solutions.

  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide the Head of Direct Sales with accurate, data-driven pipeline visibility and revenue forecasts.

  • Internal Synergy: Collaborate with Marketing and Pre-sales teams to refine the "go-to-market" strategy and ensure a world-class onboarding experience for new clients.

Key Competencies for Success

BDM Expertise: A proven track record in a New Business Development role, specifically within Telecommunications, SaaS, or Managed Services (MSP).

Strategic Hunter Mindset: Highly motivated by the "thrill of the win," with a disciplined approach to self-generating opportunities.

  • Advanced Qualification: Exceptional questioning skills to uncover pain points, budget authority, and decision-making timelines.

Commercial Gravitas: The ability to articulate complex technical value propositions in a clear, ROI-focused manner.

  • Autonomy: A proactive professional who can manage their own territory and prioritize high-value activities in a hybrid work setting.

  • Mobility: A valid UK driving license is essential for regional travel to client sites.

Why Join This Business?

Our client offers a unique, supportive culture that values being "Pioneering, Proactive, and Personal." They avoid the rigid bureaucracy of larger firms, instead fostering a friendly and persistent environment where high performers thrive.

The Benefits:

  • Earnings: Competitive base salary + an uncapped, high-yield commission structure.

Time Off: 32 days holiday (including Bank Holidays), increasing with service, plus holiday purchase options.

  • Wellbeing: Subsidised Bupa Dental, Gym membership, and "Smart Health" support.

  • Financial Security: 4x Life Cover and a Scottish Widows pension scheme.

  • Lifestyle: Hybrid flexibility, enhanced family leave, and a dedicated Charity Day.

  • Incentives: Free home broadband (post-probation), Cycle to Work scheme, and long-service awards.
